Celebrate 100 years of my father's legacy! Join our family's unique, world-record-attempt Memoir Blog Challenge and a three-phase celebration honoring his life and values.

This November, our family is preparing to celebrate a truly monumental occasion: the centenary birthday of my beloved father, Sri Susarla Subrahmanya Sastry, a true pillar of honesty and integrity, who was born in 1925 and passed away in 2015. He was a senior mechanical engineer in the Andhra Pradesh state government, known for his ethical approach and constant adherence to core Hindu traditional vegetarian values.

As his eldest son, I am thrilled to lead this celebration, joined by my wife and siblings. To honor his extraordinary legacy, I am launching a unique, multi-phased program, anchored by an ambitious writing project on this blog page. Phase 1: The Announcement and the Challenge (October 7, 2025)

Today, I officially release the Centenary Birthday Celebration banner (embedded above) and kick off the challenge!

I am attempting a 30-day memoir blog writing and posting challenge, aiming for a world record for the most blogs published in a month in the Memoir category! The blogs will cover my personal experiences, the life lessons I learned from him, cherished family stories, and inspiring quotes from friends and colleagues.

To make this challenge a success, your engagement is vital. In this unique record attempt, public views and comments are counted alongside the content's quality. I warmly encourage all relatives, friends, and well-wishers to subscribe and participate actively!

Phase 2: The Centenary Birthday Observation (November 7, 2025)

The heart of the celebration, though tentative and subject to change, takes place on his actual 100th birthday:

• 100th Birthday Observation: A day dedicated to gratitude and reflection.

• Traditional Puja: We will begin the day with a traditional puja at the Hanuman temple located in our gated community, and seek divine blessings.

• Service Project: Reflecting his lifetime values, I and my wife will organize a community lunch for local staff, a small gesture of giving back.

• The Memoir Starts: This is the day I officially begin compiling, writing, and publishing multiple blogs daily for thirty days!

Phase 3: Celebrating His Legacy (November 23, 2025)

Our grand celebration, also tentative, will focus on the values he embodied:

• Vedic Chanting: I will arrange for a Veda Parayana (Vedic chanting) to highlight the importance of spirituality in his journey.

• Symbolic Tree Planting: Younger generations will participate in a special tree-planting ceremony, symbolizing longevity and hope.

• Family & Well-wishers Reunion: A joyful gathering featuring storytelling sessions and a tribute in his honor.

• Honoring the Pillars: We will felicitate the most supportive well-wishers from his lifetime, acknowledging their contributions.

• Personalized Keepsake: The event will conclude with the release of a postal stamp replica, symbolizing his incredible legacy.

Phase 4: The Conclusion (December 7, 2025)

The month-long memoir journey will culminate with a final, concluding blog post on December 7th, where I will announce the outcome of the 30-day writing challenge.
