Iโve always loved the energy of a book fair.
The smell of new paper. The conversations between strangers who become readers. The moment someone picks up your book, flips a page, and decides, "This is for me," is a moment that matters.
This year, I wonโt be able to attend in person the book fairs in Kashmir.
Distance and logistics donโt always align with desire.
But hereโs what Iโve come to believe: An authorโs true essence lives in their writing.
Even when Iโm not physically present, my books can still represent me. They can sit on a shelf, speak directly to a reader, and start a conversation that lasts long after the fair ends.
Thatโs why Iโm deeply grateful that my paperbacks will be at the 3rd edition of Chinar Book Festival in Srinagar.
