Greetings on the proud occasion of the 38th Practicing Company Secretaries' Day! June 15th always holds a magnificent space in my heart. For over three decades, my professional identity was deeply intertwined with COP 2341, a professional service I began as Practicing Company Secretary with immense pride in 1996.

Recently, I made a monumental pivot. I surrendered my Certificate of Practice (COP) to actively step into my next grand chapter. I am now navigating the globe as a full-time authorpreneur, letting my passion for writing take flight. I have officially evolved from a PCS-turned-author.
On the eve of this milestone day, I offer my warmest congratulations to two very important groups of people.
First, to the existing PCS professionals who safeguard corporate governance every single day.
Second, to my fellow former PCS members who, like me, chose to relinquish their COP to bravely chase their creative callings and personal avocations.
Looking back at my 30-year active journey as a PCS, I always lived by a distinct personal code on June 15th. Beyond merely extending pleasantries to the furniture and team inside my office, I made it a strict ritual to send festive greetings to my clients, trainees, and students. I also ensured these reached our vital regulatory authorities, such as the officers at the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), to thank them for their seamless, continued support.
Crucially, I never forgot to extend these greetings to my spouse and family members. They offered unwavering personal support, patiently putting up with my complex legal and professional jargon even when I was completely away from the office desk.
As a veteran advisor, I want to pass down one core piece of wisdom to the fraternity today. Your responsibility as a practicing company secretary does not begin and end with statutory compliance alone. Your true lasting impact relies on your ability to communicate effectively. This focus on deep, clear communication is what I practiced throughout my career. It is exactly what allows me to remain a trusted advisor to this day, whether I hold a physical COP or not.
I wish the entire ICSI and PCS community a phenomenal celebration.
May your legal acumen and communication continue to empower the corporate world!
